Embassy of India, Dakar recognized Mr. Balbir S. Cheema, Chairman-cum-MD, CSL Senegal Sarl, as the recipient of the 'BHARATSEN – The Sun from India 2016' Certificate. BHARATSEN - 2016 Certificate was presented to Mr. Cheema by the Senegalese Minister of Local Governance, Development and Planning, Mr. Abdoulaye Diouf SARR, in the presence of Ambassador of India, Shri Rajeev Kumar, on the occasion of Republic Day of India on January 26, 2017. Other accredited Ambassadors, Government officials, members of Indian community and local dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
'BHARATSEN - The Sun from India' has been instituted to recognize the significant contributions made by an individual Indian/Association/Indian company based in Senegal in strengthening India-Senegal bilateral relations by promoting 'Health and Education', 'Indian business opportunities', 'India's interests and culture in Senegal' and 'Welfare of Indians and Senegalese'. 'BHARATSEN' will be conferred on an annual basis and 'BHARATSEN - 2016' is the first edition. The next edition, i.e., BHARATSEN -2017 will be announced on January 26, 2018 for the activities/achievements/contributions made in the year 2017"
